Lost Opportunity.... Can it be created?????
March 31: After a lot of deliberation I decided to leave my dream company, the company loved the most (even now). Having got two offers on hand, it was just the emotional bondage that I had to overcome. I also without fail put down my papers on the same day.
April 07: My Mentors - Group Leader, Mr.Balaji and another biggie Mr. GV flew down to Coimbatore. Part of their agenda was to chat with me. I was asked to wait in the company till all my hard work borne fruits. I was hinted at a Business Development Opportunity (in the Middle East) - My Dream Role, which had brought me into IT industry after my tiring MBA. GV came out with the right carrot. Hmmm... that’s why he is my mentor.....
April 14: Tamil New Year. Got a call from the Middle East Region. It was a brief 1 hour Interview. My ‘future boss’ seemed to be happy with me. At that moment I was required to fly by beginning of May'06.
April 16: Got a mail from my ‘future boss’ that my road to Middle East was not that easy given the amount of traffic (competition) it witnessed. He wanted me to wait for a month to get the final answer.
My group leader (the man who takes anything with a warm smile - definitely admire that quality and sincerely trying to follow that) was so kind hearted that he was even prepared to wait for 1 month and then process my resignation (I certainly did not make a mistake in figuring out my dream company). In the process he only added to his crisis table another task of identifying a backup for me without even knowing whether I will quit the organization.
April 30: My resignation was processed after it concluded that my road to Middle East became a dead end.
May 17: My last day at the CRI Project. Missed the camaraderie, the tonnes of laughter… lemme not get emotional…
May 18: My last day at my Dream Company. I vouched to return back to the same company after all the exceeding aspirations are moderated.
God, It could have stopped at that..... But that’s where my Life is pretty interesting....
May 22: Joined my new employer... Started running again... new ground, this time I need to run even faster.....
May 30: Got a call from Middle East. My ‘should have been boss’ spoke to me. Seems that the deadlock in the process was removed and the road is now free....
But the opportunity is lost..... I wanted to create another......
Yes, I have started running..... The journey continues......
