MYSSKIN MAGIC
It was exactly 4PM on a Friday when my friend came and told me that one of the Theatre Complexes in Coimbatore has screened the movie, 'Chittiram Pesudhadi', a relatively unknown movie. Thanks to Ananda Vikatan which carried an interview of the director in which he was ambivalent about the status of the movie. "The movie' review has been positive, but the revenues are not corresponding to the reviews, let me see if some magic happens to turn-up the movie", said the Director.
We were already caught by the Weekend fever and the team was planning to enjoy the impending moments. We decided to gate crash the theatre for the night show.
Coimbatore was witnessing a downpour quite unlikely in the month of March when the summer was all set to start. But the rain would not come in to deter our determination to see the movie; two bikes just steered towards the cinema hall. Driving is not all that easy, especially in a rain, but we were just directed by some unknown force; the Will or sheer enthusiasm of just remembering these beautiful moments and cherish them in future. As there is a price for everything, we got ourselves completely doused.
When we collected our tickets and entered the Hall, we found very few seats to be occupied.

There was nothing special about the movie, the story is not new; not that I (we) expected the story to be different. But the presentation was quite different, interesting and sometimes amazing. The characterization should speak volumes about the director's craftsmanship. The story was told in a quite unusual backdrop - Don's Place for example.
The scenes were shot and edited perfectly, to take care of the interest factors, to give adequate thrill and of course to ensure the tempo of the movie. It has been quite a while since I saw the audiences (who have gone quite impatient nowadays to reject something that doesn’t match their expectation) clap and enjoy the scenes. In fact i too joined the crowd to applaud many scenes. Bhaavna is quite promising. Naren (hero) has tried to deliver well. Let me not steal the compliments he deserves. The movie has everything in it, couple of good songs, rib tickling comedy, effective emotional scenes and a perfect climax.
Arguably 'Chittiram Pesudhadi' is one of the good movies on the show. I guess Tamil audience won't let down this dream performance by the Debut Team.....
